You're invited to attend the grand opening celebration of our Homer branch! This exciting event will include welcome remarks from our President/CEO, an official ribbon cutting, locally catered refreshments, giveaways and a donation to the Homer Community Food Pantry. You'll also have the opportunity to connect with the CU1 team, ask questions, and learn more about how Credit Union 1 is serving the Homer community.

To enter the ATV Sweepstakes, simply stop by our new Homer branch between August 11 - 25, 2026:
- For Existing Members: Just visit the branch and mention the sweepstakes to a team member.
- For Non-Members: Enter by joining CU1. Open a savings account during your visit or start the process online now to save time at the event!

What You Need to Become a CU1 Member:
Your CU1 membership begins with a $5 deposit into a savings account. This $5 maintains your co-ownership of our credit union. Anyone who lives or works in Alaska is eligible to join us!

We are a not-for-profit institution, owned by our Alaskan members. To join, simply fill out an application and make a $5 deposit into a savings account.
This $5 represents your share of ownership in our credit union and is a one-time requirement to become a member. It secures your co-ownership of our member-focused, community-driven organization.
How to Be Ready:
- If you’re applying in person, bring $5 in cash, a check, or your debit card to make the deposit on-site.
- If you’re applying online, have your debit card or account information ready to complete the deposit electronically.
Once your application is approved, you'll have access to the rest of our products and services and can take advantage of the many benefits of being a CU1 member!

When applying, you'll need to provide the following information:
- Full Name
- Social Security Number
- Date of Birth
- Phone Number
- Physical Address
- Mailing Address
- Email Address

Provide a non-expired government-issued photo ID, such as:
- Driver’s License or State ID
- Passport
- Unexpired VISA
- Military ID (must not be copied or scanned)
- Government or Tribal ID
Note: Temporary paper IDs are accepted only if accompanied by an expired/voided ID or, for new members, a birth certificate or Social Security card.
Additional Requirements (if applicable):
- Social Security Card: If we cannot verify your SSN through other means
- Proof of Date of Birth: A birth certificate or second government-issued ID may be required
- Non-U.S. Citizens: Green card or VISA, plus additional IRS forms

If your current residential address is not listed on your ID, we may request additional documentation (dated within the last 60 days). Examples include:
- School transcripts or acceptance letters
- Utility or phone bills
- Bank or credit card statements
- Paystub
- Lease/rental agreements
- Insurance documents
- Tax documents
- Alaska voter registration confirmation
- Vehicle registration or title
- Tribal card (for non-standard remote Alaska addresses only, within the tribal area indicated on the card)
- A signed letter on official letterhead from a school, employer, or organization within the U.S. attesting residency in Alaska
