We Love Our Community!
Credit Union 1 was founded on the spirit of “people helping people,” and we continue to embrace this philosophy through our commitment to volunteering. We can be seen everywhere, from road cleanups, to providing support with fundraising events, to painting houses, to serving holiday meals for those in need. We’re a talented group, and we love to help in all kinds of ways!
Credit Union 1’s CommUNITY Day tradition started on Indigenous Peoples Day 2015, when employees used their day off work to donate more than 900 volunteer hours to communities across Alaska. Thanks to the overwhelming success of these efforts, we’ve now made CommUNITY Day an annual event!
Our next CommUNITY Day will take place on Monday, October 14, 2019.
Each year on #GivingTuesday, CU1 employees throughout our state join in one of CU1’s biggest philanthropic events ever. Together, we team up to deliver gifts, donate to nonprofits, and commit "random acts of kindness" such as paying a stranger's grocery bill or filling up their gas tank. It's an entire day full of leading change, uplifting others and valuing people -- and that's what #CU1LUV is all about!
