Anchorage:

Currently we have an opening for multiple Anchorage Area Tellers, 1 full-time Teacher Assistant, 1 full-time Vice President of Real Estate Lending and 1 full-time Staff Trainer.

Teller: Tellers are the foundation of CU1. In fact, many of our current top-level employees started out as tellers! At Credit Union 1, we pride ourselves in promoting from within – and our teller positions are the perfect place to begin. The qualifications for a Teller are at least 6 months of sales and customer service experience, with cash handling experience preferred. This can include restaurant and/or retail experience. The ability to work branch hours is required.

Currently we have an opening for multiple full-time Tellers in the Anchorage Area. Hours for the position are Monday-Sunday, 5 days a week; weekend work is required.  Employees can expect to work an 8 hour shift that could begin as early as 7:30am and end as late at 7:30pm.  The ability to work branch hours is required.

Teacher Assistant: At Credit Union 1, we love kids! If you feel the same way, our Little 1’s Learning Center may be the perfect place for you. Currently, we are hiring for one full-time Teacher Assistant in our Learning Center. The person in this position will be responsible for assisting our teaching staff with their daily routine, program implementation, and supervision and safety of children. This position reports directly to the Learning Center’s on-site manager.  

The qualifications for Teacher Assistant are high school graduate or equivalent.  Child care experience is preferred, and CPR/First Aid certification is required. Credit Union 1 is happy to purchase NAEYC basic membership for the person in this position, following six months of employment, if they do already have a membership.  If the employee already has a membership, their renewal will be paid by the credit union upon six months of employment.    

Currently we have an opening for 1 full-time Teacher Assistant at our Little One’s Early Learning Center; located at 1941 Abbott Rd. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday.  Employees can expect to work a rotating shift that could begin as early as 7:00am and end as late at 8:00pm.

Vice President of Real Estate Lending: Are you excited to help fellow Alaskans realize some of their biggest dreams? Join CU1’s Real Estate team to start changing lives via homeownership! Credit Union 1’s Vice President of Real Estate Lending is responsible for coordinating and controlling our credit union wide Real Estate Lending activities. This person reports to the credit union’s Senior Vice President of Lending.

Qualifications for Vice President of Real Estate Lending include high school graduate or equivalent, plus five years of experience in lending and at least five years in a supervisory capacity. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Business Administration is desirable! Applicants must have knowledge of secondary market regulations and guidelines, including FHA and VA loans, as well as a demonstrated understanding and ability to perform all aspects of Real Estate Lending.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. Furthermore, applicants must have the ability to review and analyze business and personal tax returns, be able to work well under pressure, and be capable of working in a tactful, diplomatic and effective manner with members, all levels of credit union personnel, professionals serving the credit union and external auditors and regulators.

Currently, we have an opening for one full-time Vice President of Real Estate Lending at our Headquarters building, located at 1941 Abbott Road. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm.

Staff Trainer: The ability to motivate and teach others is a great talent. At Credit Union 1, we’re looking for a talented new Staff Trainer to work with our incoming and existing employees! The person in this position will be responsible for delivering the credit union’s new teller training as well as producing, scheduling and delivering entry-level training. They will facilitate the delivery of advanced training courses, evaluate the developmental needs of employees, aid in establishing career paths and employee developmental goals, and administer and manage the credit union’s online training program. Qualifications for Credit Union 1’s Staff Trainer are high school graduate or equivalent with completed college-level courses in Education or Communications and a minimum one year of related work experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred. A minimum of one year experience as a Teller, along with basic IRA experience and new account knowledge, is also preferred. Our Staff Trainer must exhibit and maintain strong operational skills in all branch systems and demonstrate above average sales skills. Public speaking and facilitation skills are essential for this position, as our Staff Trainer must be comfortable with speaking in front of large and small groups while synthesizing complex ideas into training sessions and presenting them in a manner that is accessible and memorable.

Applicants must be prepared to provide a 2-3 minute training presentation on their favorite Credit Union 1 product or service.

Currently, we have an opening for one full-time Staff Trainer in our Corporate Communications Department, which is located at 1941 Abbott Rd. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, from 8:30am – 5:30pm; weekend work may occasionally be required. Flexibility is required as hours may vary based on training class schedules.
